Foods / Plants: It’s Log! This pre-seeded Shiitake mushroom log is gorgeous and unexpectedly practical for urban dwellers. I dig the found object steez. I was cynical about the WS agrarian line in favor of a more DIY gardening habits, at first. This functional log would fit perfectly on my rooftop garden, long starving for a tree trunk.
The shiitake log reminds me of those nature store magic crystal trees from the ‘90’s…Instructions state, “Soak log for 24 hours in cold water, mist it occasionally if your environment is dry, and watch your crop emerge.”
According to the brand, the natural hardwood log will produce a crop of organic shiitake mushrooms every two months for more than three years.
It’s a do-gooder, too. A portion of sales is donated to Mushrooms in Ghana, supporting small-scale mushroom farms in West Africa.
